Katie Archibald and Emily Nelson produced a masterclass to win Madison gold as Jack Carlin won sprint silver Great Britain on day four of the 2018 UCI Track Cycling World Championships.
Olympic champion Archibald and Nelson won eight of 12 sprints over the 120-lap race in a extraordinary display in Apeldoorn.

They finished on 50 points, 15 clear of second place Netherlands as 21-year-old Nelson claimed her first world title, while for Archibald it was a third world gold.
Twenty-year-old Carlin produced the sprint display of his career to date to reach the final where he lost out to Australian Matthew Glaetzer 2-0.

"It's going to take a while for that to sink in," said Nelson.
"It was really hard to see the scoreboard so I just kept going as though people were one point behind us.”
The medals take Great Britain tally to six medals - two gold, three silver and one bronze.

"I was very close to throwing up during the presentation!" Carlin said.
Earlier there were personal bests for Nelson and Ellie Dickinson in the individual pursuit.
Nineteen-year-old Dickinson stopped the clock in 3:34.507 to finish seventh while Nelson set a time of 3:35.519 for ninth.

Ollie Wood got his world championships under way by taking sixth in the omnium.
Wood, who will race in Sunday’s Madison, was 12th in the opening scratch race before a strong finish helped him to 10th in the tempo race, winning three consecutive laps for three points.
A tough elimination race ended in 15th but he rallied in the closing points race to climb up the rankings.
Katy Marchant was eighth in the 500m time trial. Marchant qualified in seventh with a new personal best of 33.893 seconds before setting a time of 34.242 over two laps in the final.
