Sir Bradley Wiggins will take on cycling’s hour record on Sunday 7 June and every home in the UK can follow his attempt thanks to live coverage on television and online.
Wiggins will head to the Lee Valley VeloPark for another landmark moment in his illustrious career, which has seen him capture four Olympic gold medals and win the 2012 Tour de France.
He will attempt to break the mark set by fellow Briton Alex Dowsett in May this year (52.937km) for the furthest distance a rider can cycle within an hour.
As well as coverage on Sky Sports 2 from 6pm, to celebrate Sir Bradley’s attempt, the event will replace the regular programming on the Freeview channel PICK (channel 11).

A live stream will also be available on skysports.com and the Sky Sports apps, including the YouTube channel, meaning every home in the UK can see Britain’s first Tour de France winner take on one of cycling’s toughest challenges.
Sky Sports presenter Sarah-Jane Mee will host the event and will be joined by guests Dame Sarah Storey, who attempted the women’s hour record in February, as well as Rob Hayles, who won silver with Wiggins in the team pursuit at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens.
