The 2011-12 track cycling season opens with the British Cycling National Track Championships, which run from 28th September - 2nd October. This traditional curtain raiser to the winter season takes on a special significance this year with the 2012 London Olympics just months away and it represents the last chance to see the GB Cycling Team's Track riders  competing together in Manchester ahead of the Games.

Schedule highlights in brief:

Friday: Women's Points Race & Sprint Race, Men's Keirin & Scratch Race
Saturday: Women's Team Sprint; Men's Sprint & Team Pursuit; U16 Madison
Sunday: Women's Team Pursuit & Keirin; Men's Team Sprint & Omnium


The Best of Day 1 - Sky's incredible team sprint catch, Pendleton's TT & Women's Madison

The Best of Day 2 - Featuring the best of future British talent, day two of the 2010 Championship was a showcase of future World Champions.

The Best of Day 3 - A points race which ended in a tie, the meeting of talent and experience in the women's sprint and a pursuit of the highest quality; day three of the national track championships provided a packed schedule of racing.

The Best of Day 4 - The meeting of Kenny and Hoy in the Men's Sprint was the highlight on day four; together with a bunch sprint in the scratch and a ding dong battle in the pursuit, day four was one to savour.

Entries are now open for the 2011 Open, Women's and Paracycling National Track Championships to be held on the Manchester Velodrome on 28th September to 2nd October. Enter on-line now via the event's official calendar listing. Entries close at midnight on 22nd August.

Alongside these Championships, on the 1st and 2nd October are Madison Championships for Youth Boys and Girls and Junior Boys - Again visit the event's official calendar listing to enter.
