Preparations are well underway for the organisation of the 2014 Brecon Beast Mountain Biking Challenge.

Since 2002 when the event was first staged, the Beast has grown in stature becoming more popular year on year and as a charity event it has been successful in raising over £62,800 for local charities and good causes.

The event staged from the historic market town of Brecon in the heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park offers the riders to mountain bike in some amazing scenery that covers each of the two routes. Whilst some road riding is necessary to get onto some of the trails, this is well worth it to ride amongst some of the best off road routes in mid/south Wales. Be prepared however as is not called the Beast for nothing. Are you up to the challenge to take on the Beast?

The distances for the two routes for this year are 71.5km and 52km. Also included in the entry fee is camping and pasta the night before. Entries are well up on previous years, but you can still enter, just book online at www.breconbeast.co.uk
