Daisy Chain Bike Events invite all women to come along and experience a fabulous mountain biking weekend in glorious unspoilt mid-Wales on May 10-11. You don’t have to be experienced, but do need some basic fitness as Wales does have hills!
Don’t panic, the riding isn’t very technical, and the organisers are friendly and helpful. It’s just about having fun on a bike with friends. There will be optional diversions around any technical sections.
You can come along for one or both days.
On Saturday there will be many different mountain bike activities including skills, mechanics, yoga, kid’s races, guided ride and barbecue.
On Sunday there will be a mini marathon with a choice of three distances; 16km, 23km or 35km. There will be tea, coffee and homemade cake on course and at the finish and all riders will receive a medal and certificate.
The organisers are keen to encourage women to get out and enjoy being on their bike. As one rider last year said
“I’ve just got back from the Daisy Chain bike event. It was a great day out for all the girls riding, the feedback I got from all the girls was this is exactly the kind of event they are looking for.”
The events are now in their second year, having been nominated for an award for innovation at last year’s Welsh Cycling awards.
