Event: 11 May 2014

The 2014 High Peak Hog is nearly sold out. With less than 30 places left you need to act quickly if you want to ride. The event, run by Glossop Kinder Velo, is back for a second year after a successful inaugural event in 2013.

The event aims to promote our club and cycling in the beautiful Peak District. The full route is a very challenging ride, rated four on the British Cycling Sportive Grading scale. The half route while not as far is still challenging and the perfect introduction to a hilly sportive.

No fewer than five of the climbs are featured in Simon Warren’s ‘100 Greatest Cycling Climbs. The final climb up Holme Moss featured in both the full and half routes is the same that the pros will tackle on stage two of the 2014 Tour de France. You can enter either route but you have the option to decide your route on the day.

The £25.00 entry fee includes parking, changing/shower facilities, electronic timing and photos of riders on some of the major climbs available on Flickr to download after the event. You will also get a hot breakfast, feed stations and hog roast (with vegetarian option) at the finish.

Keep to your New Year’s Resolutions and set yourself a cycling challenge for 2014. Can you go the Whole Hog?
