The weather has changed dramatically since the April Hammer Sportives and we're all finally enjoying summer! So with everyone on their bikes and at the peak of fitness, it's time to look for a new challenge!
Entries are now open for our Autumn Hammer & Sickle Sportives starting from Salcombe in the stunning South Hams. Building on the format of the Spring Hammer, the October events have the benefit from rider feedback to create an amazing experience.
There are three challenging routes to match everyone's abilities and the 130 km Lump Hammer certainly feels like a much tougher ride than the figures suggest! A serious test if you're up for it? The 104 km Tack Hammer and the 50 km Pin Hammer opens up the rewards of sportive riding to all.
Each route takes in stunning sections of the South Hams and adds a different perspective to our Spring Hammer. You'll take in some dramatic countryside and coastline not used in our other events, and the best is saved to last with the climb of Sandhills Road in Salcombe to finish just after the top. It's the South Hams answer to Alp d'Huez with five hairpins and stunning views. What a way to end the event!
As always, real ale will be on draught at the finish to revive flagging legs and feed stations will have a distinctly continental feel.
