Event: 22 September 2013

The Sussex Highs and Lows Sportive, which is taking place on Sunday 22 September, is a new and genuinely unique cycling event. It will offer cyclists of all fitness and cycling abilities the opportunity to really challenge themselves and take in some of The South Downs most stunning scenery.

We are also hoping that the Sussex High and Low Sportive will give its cyclists the opportunity to celebrate some of their own recent high points as well as appreciating some shared high points with the rest of the pack along the way.

Cyclists can choose from two challenging but very enjoyable routes of either 56 or 68 miles.

Both courses will have a few tough hills to take on as well as giving cyclists the chance to see some llamas, a very, very tall man and an equally large horse!

This Sportive is going to be an ideal opportunity for any cyclists who are new to the sport and are just keen to get out there and see what it's all about.

Both routes start and finish at Ditchling Recreation Ground and will stay together until just after the food stop.

There will be:
Free parking
Toilets and showers
Changing facilities at the event Start/Finish.
Marshalled and well directed routes.
2 food stops
First Aid
Mechanical bike support
A goody bag
An inner sense of contentment for having supported a number of worthy causes (anyone who is fundraising for a charity will receive a discount)

There will also be spot prizes for any cyclists who we think really embrace the spirit of this event.

We are also hoping, although this is in no way compulsory, that all our cyclists will enter into the spirit of this sportive and let us know what has been their high and low so far this year at our Facebook page. To view the Facebook page and see what we mean please visit the web link below.

If you have any questions contact James@pioafrica.org.uk or you can enter today here via the British Cycling website.

We are really hoping that as well as getting more people on their bikes and giving some old hands a new cycling challenge that our event will be a great fundraiser for lots of charities.

With that in mind any cyclists who has a fundraising page and £50 or more already raised for any registered charity showing on it will receive a discount on their entry.

We really look forward to meeting you all on the day and hearing all about your recent highs and lows over a drink and a homemade cake.
