Sportive organisers KILOTOGO have launched three big spring sportive challenges for 2013 with entries open already at
First up is the traditional season opener on the domestic calendar with Wiggle Cheshire Cat. 3,200 choose to participate in the 2012 event. For 2013, there are three attractive routes to entice all levels of cycling ability – from past Tour de France riders and current Tour of Britain riders,through to first time sportivers. Once again, the famous Mow Cop Killer Mile climb rears its iconic castle folly summit for those who opt for the medium and longer options.
Just two weeks later on April 7 it’s the opportunity for midland’s cyclists to participate in another big ride; this time, Wiggle Motion in Mercia. The first running in 2012 proved to be very popular in attracting a full field of 800 riders. Held atAldersley Leisure Village in Wolverhampton, the old stomping ground of quadruple world champion turned cycling commentator Hugh Porter MBE, hosts the event HQ. Two routes take in the tranquil forest of Cannock chase whilst the longer option goes onto explore UNESCO world heritage site of Ironbridge in the spectacular Severn Gorge.
More accessible and appealing in every sense to a broader number of cyclist is how the organisers describe Wiggle Coasting in Cornwall on April 21. With their sound knowledge of the Cornish terrain and coastlines gained in previous years from route-riding and organising Cornwall’s biggest sportive, the organisers have opened up the stunning Cornish countryside and coasts whilst reducing some of the climbing.
