The Cornwall Coastal Classic
Event 20-26 October

Take your sportive experiences to the max next autumn and ride the 777km of wild and wonderful coastal roads around Cornwall! The seven stage event, run by Carrick Leisure, offers the rider a very special experience - this is as close as it gets to experiencing what the pros go through when competing in a major tour.

The seven consecutive days - Sunday 20 to Saturday 26 October 2013 - follow the coast of Cornwall, and the Devon and Cornwall border, passing through iconic locations such as Rock, Polzeath and Milook along the dramatic north Cornwall coastline, down through the southern fishing villages and towns of Looe, Mevagissey, and Polperro, around the craggy Roseland Peninsula to Truro, Helford and The Lizard, and way out west to Penzance, St Ives and Hayle. This is a chance to not only be part of a significant mark in UK sportive history, but to also experience riding the breathtaking Cornish coastline and countryside.

There are many climbs and descents making this a significant challenge. This is a completely new and unique event that will truly test your stamina and endurance.

The first stage starts from Lakeview, early on Sunday 20 October, and travels in a clockwise direction around Cornwall in seven days of riding.

The routes are as follows:

All riders will be supported by the experienced Carrick Leisure Event Team who will be staying at the event HQ to ensure all needs are met. There will also be a significant event crew supporting riders on route that will include a mobile feed station offering nutrition drinks and energy food, mobile support mechanics, National Escort safety motorbike marshals and emergency pick up vehicles as required.

There will also be support escort cyclists who will stay with pre-determined groups to ensure that riders are safe and will also keep to an agreed pace. Mobile bike mechanics will be on hand to tend to any bike problems and spare bikes will also be available during each stage for those mechanical problems that cannot be fixed by the roadside.

Entry to the Cornwall Coastal Classic opens on Friday 7 December 2012 via the British Cycling website here.

Enter early and qualify for a discounted fee of £350. Entry after this early-bird offer will be at the standard £400 rate. (Early entry discount rate is valid from 7 December 2012 until 28 February 2013. Standard entry fees then apply until closing date of Friday 29 March 2013.)

The cost of entry includes the thorough and impressive support system which fully covers all aspects of technical and medical support, route management, transport, bike security as well as being on hand 24/7 to meet the needs of all participants.
