Location: Tatton Park, Cheshire
Report: Human Race

Fancy cycling with an Olympic gold medallist this autumn? Your dream could come true as Victoria Pendleton will be amongst the 1000 women all taking part in the Cycletta Cheshire cycling event and entries are still open.

Pendleton, a partner of the women only cycling series Cycletta, returns to Tatton Park in Cheshire on 7th October following a hugely popular inaugural event at the same venue in 2011; the series has since expanded to seven events nationally.

Victoria Pendleton (MBE) said of the forthcoming event: "Being able to cycle with so many girls on bikes in Cycletta last year was one of my highlights of 2011. 2012 is already a special year and I really hope that thousands more women will join me on a bike this year. Cycletta is the perfect event to get on two wheels with the girls and have some fun! I hope to see you out there."

Cycletta, part of the Human Race group, is a unique series of women-only, mass-participation cycle events. The events take place on safely managed roads and provide a sufficient fitness challenge whilst remaining achievable and accessible to women of all abilities. Billed as the only rides in the country to have helmet hair remedy centers, they also have world class safety, signage, mechanical support around the route and a Cycletta village to enjoy after the event with food, drinks and entertainment.

Victoria will be joined by Coronation Street’s Tina O’Brien and Helen Flanagan, Capital Radio DJ and footballer wife Carla Kompany, West End actress & footballer wife- Jessica Lawlor and WAGs Chantelle Tagoe and Debbie Lescott, who are all raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support, Cycletta’s official charity partner.

For those inspired to get out cycling and practice ahead of the event, Victoria has also been working with Cycletta sponsor Hovis, who are also on a mission to help get the nation back on their bikes with the launch of the new Hovis Cycle Maps website. The Hovis smartphone-friendly website aims to encourage users to live a healthier lifestyle by incorporating Hovis Wholemeal goodness in to their daily diet whilst providing the inspiration, tools and know-how to get the nation more active by cycling. Visit www.hoviscyclemaps.com to view all sixteen maps and find the nearest route to you, along with exclusive tips, hints from Olympian Victoria Pendleton and prizes.

Sarah Page, Local Fundraiser for Macmillan Cancer Support said, “Macmillan Cancer Support is delighted to be the Official Charity of Cycletta. To have these high profile individuals joining in and supporting our cause is fantastic; a huge thank you to everyone who will be supporting Macmillan Cancer Support in the event.”
