The White Horse Sportive, a brand new event from Velo29 for 2012.
29th September, North Yorkshire, 4 great new routes from 15 to 75 miles, from flat to 4 x super-category climbs! It’s an event for all abilities, from families to the seasoned Sportive rider. Named after the famous “White Horse” of Kilburn, the longest route climbs past this striking land mark.
Starting from the Market Town of Stokesley, the shortest route at 15 miles is designed for first timers or people wanting to progress from Sky Ride to Sportive riding. The ride is well signed on quiet country roads and never far from HQ should something go wrong.
The 25mile route has the option of a 2nd Category climb, riders can decide at the bottom to take the “bail-out” option or climb the 25% “Clay Bank”.
Both longer routes are a real challenge, 75 miles takes in the White Horse Bank as well as 3 other 25% climbs. Both the 65 and 75mile routes take in some great roads, some major hills and some great fun descents.
All the usual features from Velo29 will feature including;
Feed Zones, free pre event bike check and out on course neutral service vehicle, we have trained motorbike riders to keep you safe, there’s a free post event massage, electronic timing chip, event certificate, event mug and of course the great from atmosphere of all Velo29 events!
