An exciting multi day coast to coast challenge across the top of England, the Hadrian Challenge is another Coast to Coast route between Maryport on the Irish Sea in West Cumbria and Newcastle on Tyne following NCN 72. Cyclists are asked to meet at Newcastle College early on the Saturday morning (where there is free secure parking) ready to be transported by coach with their bikes and luggage to the start.

Thereafter follows 70 miles of rural tarmac (with short cuts if needed) along the Solway Firth through Carlisle and some climbs up into Roman Wall country, where overnight camping or bunkhouse is provided at Winshields Farm at Once Brewed. After a pub meal in the local inn, a restful nights sleep and breakfast the second 45 miles of route run down the Tyne via Hexham and Corbridge to an early afternoon finish on the Quayside.

The route is suitable for all bikes, breakdown support and luggage carriage is supplied throughout. All for £75
