There is only 1 week left until the 'Wiggle Long One' takes place.
The guys from UK Cycling Events have really taken the ‘Ronseal’ approach to naming this event. Labelled as a Super Sportive, the Wiggle ‘Long One’ is just that, with the Epic route totalling 200km in length (Standard Route is 100km). Where the Standard route is normal is sportive terms, the Epic 200km route is rumoured to be one of the Hardest Sportives in the UK.
Set on the longest weekend of the year, riders can start early (7.30am) to give themselves enough time to complete the challenge. It all starts at the enchanting venue of the Open Air Museum in Singleton, which is at the foot of the famous Goodwood Hill and race course, providing spectacular views!
What stands the Wiggle ‘Long One’ out, is that it is a Hilly 200km route. Most longer routes seem to be over flatter courses. The Long One however, is brimming with quality Climbs, with 9 major climbs and another 10 other significant climbs, completing this sportive could be your season's crowning glory!
The climbs involved are like a roll call of famous and challenging hills, including: Goodwood, Tower Hill (uppark) Butser Hill, Hyden Hill, High Cross, Haste Hill, Duncton Hill, Upwaltham Hill, St Roches, Old Winchester...
The route itself can be described as ‘quintessentially English’, exploring quiet lanes and sublime villages in this scenic southern cycling haven. Patchwork fields and endless greenery and stunning vista’s await you on this tranquil 200 km /100km circuit.
The route has also be designed to offer riders a ‘bail out’ point, where they can take the short 100km route, if they are not feeling so great. Click Here to view MAP

The event includes all the sophistication you would expect from the highly regarded Wiggle Super series, including: Toilets, electronic timing, well stocked feed stations, parking, event photography, mechanical support, massages, bike wash facilities and most importantly a enjoyable and extremely well marked course!,
