Event Details

The 2011 Northern Rock Cyclone challenge was a huge success, with over 3000 riders taking to the roads of Tyne and Wear and Northumberland, enjoying one of three scenic routes, all starting at Newcastle Falcons Rugby Stadium, looping out into Hadrian's Wall country and taking in some of the roads used in the 2011 National Road Championships.

Photographer Andy Whitehouse was there to capture the faces of valiant riders taking on the route for personal challenge or, in many cases, to raise money for worthy causes.
