Back by popular demand after a magical first year, the Oban Sportive on Sunday 28 September is the must-do charity cycling challenge for 2014.

In 2013, 195 entrants took part and enjoyed blazing sunshine and Argyll's best scenery, riding and hospitality. Organisers North Argyll CC and Oban Rotary Club received great feedback for the course management on the day and refreshments provided by Rotary, Inner Wheel and Atlantis Leisure.

The two testing routes take you through Argyll's breathtaking scenery, for the most part on lightly-trafficked back roads.

Starting and finishing at the sea port of Oban (which offers plenty of good accommodation and interest for the visitor) the rides promise to test rider and machine in arguably some of the UK’s finest scenery. Expect sea views, lochs (and locks) large and small, highland glens, tough riding and a warm welcome.

The event is a collaborative project between North Argyll Cycle Club and Oban Rotary Club and all proceeds will go to good causes. The event will be fully supported with chip timing, route cards, feed stations, signage, marshals and a broom wagon on each course.

Event T-shirts will be free to the first 150 entrants. Oban Spit Roasts will be roasting pig for all entrants after the event, included in the entry fee.
