Ride the GSD Giant Charity Sportive and burn glycogen for children who can't

The GSD Giant is a small but professionally run sportive with all profits going to the Association for Glycogen Storage Disease (AGSD-UK), a national charity that supports families living with very rare metabolic and neuromuscular conditions.

Many children with GSD must eat carbohydrates constantly as their liver glycogen is not available to them – so very similar to an endurance cycling event in some respects, except that their challenge continues through every day and every night!

The Giant’s HQ is the magnificent Goodwood Racecourse and the route circumnavigates the South Downs National Park between Petworth in the east and the Meon Valley in the west; passing through some of the prettiest villages and hamlets in the south of England.

Cycling by green rolling pastures, ancient woodlands, river valleys and wetlands within one of Britain’s most accessible breathing spaces you’ll experience an exhilarating and challenging sportive with all the usual facilities and support:

  • Individual rider timing and web results service
  • Full route marking
  • WC blocks and showers
  • Mechanical support
  • Rider public liability insurance
  • Post-event massage
  • Plentiful free parking
  • Event photography

Route options

  • 102 miles, British Cycling Grade 4
  • 76 miles, British Cycling Grade 3
  • 47 miles, British Cycling Grade 2
