Once again The Sharpener returns this May Bank Holiday weekend to save you from DIY and test just how well your winter training plans have worked.

Starting in the picturesque village of Haddenham and routed through some of the best back road and stunning countryside Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire have to offer, riders might find some of the scenery strangely familiar if they have ever watched an episode of the Midsomer Murders.

The route runs through the beautiful villages of Brill, Cuddington, Christmas Common, Ewelme, Little Hasley, Sydenham and Worminghall, all of which have also been used as locations for the series.

Quiet roads, great views and some ‘sharp’ climbs such as Kingston Blount and Brill – it won’t be murder, but then again it won’t be easy…
