Go-Ride BMX and Cycle Speedway clubs provide an exciting and accessible environment for young people to get involved in cycling. Top quality coaching and regular racing opportunities at their own dedicated facilities enhance the family friendly atmosphere these particular clubs up and down the country.

Now as we enter the fourth year of the Go-Ride Racing programme, the Go-Ride Team has been able to act on feedback from both BMX and Cycle Speedway clubs and volunteers to offer resources and support for entry level BMX racing activities.

Go-Ride Racing Welcome Pack
Go-Ride BMX and Cycle Speedway clubs who sign up to the free Go-Ride Racing programme will receive the annual welcome pack providing example delivery formats, listing the resources available, advice on recruiting new riders and the support available from the regional Go-Ride Coach

Go-Ride Racing Kit Bags
The generic Go-Ride Racing Kit Bag has been replaced with a new discipline specific Go-Ride Racing Kit Bag for BMX and Cycle Speedway clubs. Gone are the lapboards and bells to be replaced with hi-vis vests and elbow pads to highlight just two discipline specific items. A Go-Ride Racing kit bag is available for free for clubs delivering Go-Ride Racing events and includes:

Go-Ride clubs can register their inter-club events or club level races as Go-Ride Racing activities and access additional resources available for every series of two, four or six races they register. These are listed in the table below and provide Go-Ride Racing clubs with:

— Resources to ensure each participant leaves with a memento – certificates and wrist bands
— Spot prizes to reward good performances not just winners – premium full finger gloves
— Medals for winners of races or categories
— Trophies for overall winners of a race or category

Go-Ride clubs can access the Go-Ride Racing programme for free by signing up to the programme and registering their races as entry level Go-Ride Racing events direct with the Go-Ride team (form here) or through the Events Development Officer for BMX (Roger Wilbraham). The only commitment from Go-Ride BMX clubs is to submit to the Go-Ride Racing team a £1 levy for each novice rider along with a form notifying the Go-Ride Racing team of the number of participants.
