With Tokyo 2020 drawing to a close Welsh Cycling have partnered up with BETTER to host the I Am Team GB’s Festival of Sport in Cardiff on the 15th August.
Taking place at where it all started for our Silver medallist, Elinor Barker, the afternoon session at the Maindy Centre will enable young people to come and have a go at some of the disciplines on show at this year’s games including taking on the Velodrome, road circuit and pump track, these are free activities to participate in as well as getting official I Am Team GB and Summer of cycling giveaways you may even bump into both returning Tokyo 2020 Team GB Athletes and retired athletes.
The Festival of Cycling will kick-off at 1.30pm and run to 3.30pm and is open to anyone bringing a bike (must have a working brake, and freewheel) and helmet.
Coaching and activities will be available for all ages and abilities and the opportunity to cycle on the BMX track, Cycle circuit and Velodrome. The cycling element is just one part of ta bumper weekend of activity which includes Aqua Aerobics, Zumba Taster Sessions, Yoga & Meditation and swimming lessons will also be available for the whole family to be active all day!
