Frank Slevin – British Cycling Independent Chair

Appointed as British Cycling's first Independent Chair in January 2018, Frank has held a number of board and senior executive positions across a range of industries.  Most recently,  as Executive Chairman of House of Fraser and Chairman of Hamleys of London.  Frank has also assumed the position of chair of British Cycling's nomination and remuneration committee.

In addition to his recent UK-based roles, Frank has spent significant phases of his career working internationally having been based at various stages in New York and Hong Kong.  He was based in Hong Kong from 1994 to 2010, latterly as the Head of Global Banking for HSBC, a role which he then held for the Americas.  He subsequently founded Ashgrove Homes, a residential home builder in the Thames Valley, and Novus Consulting, an innovative environmental consultancy.  He has been on the board of a number of not-for-profit organisations including the Outward Bound, Pangbourne College, the Hong Kong Society for the Protection of Children and Junior Achievement.  He is currently also Chair of the Royal Society for Asian Affairs.

He has a postgraduate diploma in Integrated Environmental Studies from the University of Southampton, an MSc in Exploration Geophysics from Imperial College and a Physics degree from the University of Manchester.

Frank is a keen cyclist, taking part in road and mountain biking, and is an early stage convert to cyclocross.

Anna Davison – Independent director

Anna Davison has worked across the sport and physical activity sector throughout her career, delivering a variety of large-scale projects and events as a project manager. She spent a number of years specialising in delivery of media operations at high-profile multi-sport events around the world, including the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, plus Commonwealth Games in both the Gold Coast and Glasgow.

Anna is now bringing together her experiences from working in a variety of organisations together with a personal passion for inspiring others to get active by working on projects which impact organisations to better support employee wellbeing, boost productivity and support better mental health through activity. As both a keen cyclist and trail runner, she is a passionate advocate for active travel and personally committed to a car-free life on two-wheels. 

Ross Muir – Independent director

Ross Muir is a highly experienced and commercially minded events professional, working within the sports and outdoor industries. He has a broad skillset spanning event and project management, concept creation, branding and marketing.  

He combines these skills with a deep knowledge of cycling gained from 10 years racing at an elite level on road and track, and through organising and guiding numerous cycling events and tours across Europe.

Stephen Nelson – Independent director

Stephen Nelson has a commercial background that covers leadership positions across four industries: brewing, retailing, aviation and private equity infrastructure investment. Respectively he has been Managing Director of Guinness Great Britain, Group Trading and Marketing Director of Sainsbury’s Supermarkets, Group CEO of BAA Ltd, and most recently Managing Director, Infracapital, where he has served for eight years as Head of Asset Management.

He has competed in a number UCI World Championships as an amateur, and his proudest moment on a bike was crossing the line as 16th Male in the 2003 Furnace Creek 508: a single non-stop stage race of 508 miles and 10,000 metres of climbing through Death Valley and beyond. It took 39 hours and lots of gels.

Paul Williamson – Independent director

Paul Williamson has many years’ experience in major sports events, including roles as a Director at the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the 2015 Rugby World Cup, the 2017 World Athletics Championships and the 2019 Rugby World Cup in Japan. Paul was also a non-executive Director of the UCI Road World Championships in Yorkshire in 2019.

A keen cyclist, he rides the roads around London but prefers the challenges of the Pyrenees on holidays in France.


Tracey Crouch – Independent director

Tracey is the MP for Chatham & Aylesford and former Sports Minister.  She recently chaired the Fan-Led Review into Football Governance and is passionate about good governance in sport.  Prior to entering Parliament in 2010 she worked in the City for Aviva as Head of Government Relations, supporting all aspects of the business in legislative affairs.

Tracey is a keen sports enthusiast and has played most sports in her life.  She is a lockdown convert to road cycling and has since done a number of challenges raising money for various charities on her bike.
