We recently caught up with Cardiff Councillor Jen Burke-Davies about how the pandemic has given her the opportunity to get back into cycling and help her young children discover how to move around the city by bike.
In the last few years Cardiff has certainly led the way in Wales when it comes increasing the provision for local people to turn to the bicycle as a way to reduce both congestion and air pollution in the city.
This became even more important once the impact that COVID-19 had on the transport infrastructure and the creation of more free time for people to explore and enjoy what is on the local doorstep. One such person is Jen who whilst regularly traveling across the city by bike before giving birth to her twins has relished the opportunity to get back in the saddle whilst traffic has been light and the air clearer to discover how the car may not be as essential as is believed when moving a young family around the city.
