After what was a very successful Track World Cup for Welsh riders we are once again opening up our weekly training sessions to new young Welsh eligible riders who are looking to get into competitive Track cycling for 2020.
With the upcoming Icebreaker competition due to take place in January and older riders about to leave the weekly sessions to progress into the next phase of our pathway programme we are welcoming young riders to join our coaching sessions that start from the 27th November – 18th December.
In order to take part riders must be aged 10 – 16 Years, the riders can use their own track bike or hire one from Newport live (Costing around £6).
The sessions are a pre-cursa to the trial block of sessions that will take place after the Christmas break at The Geraint Thomas National Velodrome of Wales in Newport in which riders must be able to demonstrate competence of the following criteria.
Going into an Olympic year, we often see increased interest in track cycling and these sessions will help assist your young cyclist to gain confidence in cycling on an indoor track session and set them up for years ahead of track cycling enjoyment.
