After numerous unsuccessful operations, Phil was told me could carry on living in pain - or have his right leg amputated below the knee.

Within six months, Phil had joined a wheelchair rugby club, played for North Wales Crusaders within eight months and represented the Welsh national side in a year.
He has also made his mark in cycling, and recently set out on a 70 mile ride between Chester and Llandudno to riase money for the Limbless association, which local club Marsh Tracks in Rhyl supported him on.
