Bronze for Collis-McCann at UCI Para-cycling Road World Cup

Craig Collis-McCann secured bronze for Great Britain Cycling Team on the opening day of the 2018 UCI Para-cycling RoadWorld Cup in Ostend.

The British rider posted a time of 33:15.28 over the 18km in the men’s T2 race, finishing strongly to take third place.

Collis-McCann reached the halfway mark in fifth, almost 15 seconds off the medal pace, but dug deep to secure his podium place.

The British rider finished just under two minutes behind race winner Hans-Peter Durst, with USA’s Ryan Boyle taking silver.

Mel Nicholls finished fifth in the women’s H4 time trial.

Time trials continue in Ostend on Friday, with men’s and women’s C1-5 classes, as well as the tandem pairs.
