A number of Great Britain Cycling Team stars are in action at the Ghent Six Day competition.

The event will host various para-cycling races on Wednesday 15 November as part of the racing from Tuesday 14 - 19 November on Belgium.

Team-sprint gold medallists and 2016 world champions, Jody Cundy, Jon-Allan Butterworth and Louis Rolfe will reunite on the track for the first time since winning gold in Rio in the team sprint against a three-man team from Belgium consisting of Ewoud Vromans, Niels Verschaeran and Diederick Schelfhout.

The six riders will also compete in a 500-metre time trial with Rolfe lining up against Vromans, Cundy taking on Schelfhout and Butterworth facing off with Verschaeren.

Lora Fachie and her pilot Corrine Hall will also be in action in a double header against Belgium tandem duo Griet Hoet and Anneleen Monsieur with the pairings competing in a 500 metre time-trial and a two kilometre pursuit.

Louis Rolfe said: “It’s an honour to be invited to compete at the Ghent Six Day, a hugely prestigious event on the cycling calendar.

“The opportunity to be able to showcase para-cycling in front of thousands of passionate cycling fans was one that was too good to miss and I can’t wait to get over there and race.”

Great Britain Cycling Team’s Mark Stewart and Ollie Wood are in action in the elite events, with Ethan Vernon and Will Tidball in the AVS Under-23 Cup.
