Georgia Hilleard (Wolverhampton Wheelers) claimed the junior women’s keirin title in a thrilling contest on day two of the British Cycling National Youth and Junior Track Championships.
The Wolverhampton Wheelers rider pipped the recently crowned junior time trial champion Lauren Bate to claim the gold.
Bate, of Team Terminator, had to settle for silver with Chloe Jones (Black Line) third.
Tom Pidcock (PH-MAS-Milnes-Oldfield) added to his impressive list of honours by claiming the junior men’s scratch title.
The recently crowned HSBC UK | National Circuit Championships winner crossed the line ahead of Jake Stewart (Swinnerton Cycles) and Ethan Vernon (Team Corley Cycles) to win another white, red and blue jersey.
Zoe Backstedt (Maindy Flyers Youth CC) is the female youth points champion, beating Elynor Backstedt (Team Backstedt-Hotchilee) to the gold.
She crossed the line in third place in the final double points sprint to finish on 37, nine clear of second place with Amelia Sharpe (Team RL360 IoM) getting bronze.
Lewis Askey won the male youth 2km individual pursuit title, beating Cardiff JIF’s Zach Bridges in the final.
The Team Backstedt-Hotchillee rider crossed the line in 2:15.907, beating his opponent by less than a second.
Bronze went to Samuel Watson (Chevin Cycles.com Trek) who beat Leo Hayter (VC Londres) by just under two seconds in a time of 2:17.394.
In the junior women’s points race heats, Mercy Webb (Storey Racing) won the final double points sprint to win heat one with 10 points, pipping Tara Ferguson (Manx Viking Wheelers CC) to first place by virtue of a higher finish in the final sprint. Jenny Holl (Team Jaden Weltlife) won heat two with 15 points, eight clear of her nearest rival.
