The 2017 British Cycling National Youth and Junior Track Championships are taking place at Wales National Velodrome, Newport Monday 31 July - Friday 4 August.
Spectators are welcome to support Britain’s top youth and junior cyclists as they battle for glory on the boards of Wales National Velodrome across five days of competition. Racing begins at 10.00am each day, with each session culminating in podium presentations for the newly crowned champions. Newport Live are hosting the event, with spectating free for all and refreshments available to purchase at the velodrome.
In addition, Welsh Cycling in partnership with Sport Wales will stream the action live from the velodrome from 10.00am on Wednesday 2 August on Welsh Cycling’s Facebook page, in a bid to take track cycling to more people across Wales and the UK.
Anne Adams-King, chief executive officer at Welsh Cycling said: “To host the Championships is an honour for Wales, with the next generation of Olympic and Commonwealth athletes competing here this summer.
Welsh riders have a successful history competing at national level, and we hope to see a number of riders from our clubs on the podium throughout the week. In addition, the event is hosted by Newport Live with volunteers from our cycling community, and we thank them for their continued support for cycling in Wales.
Whether you’re supporting from the sidelines, or watching at home we hope the championships inspire you to cycle.”
Spectators are welcome from 10.00am each day, and you can watch on Welsh Cycling’s Facebook page on Wednesday 2 August.
Reports and results will be available from British Cycling each day.
