Great Britain Cycling Team’s Craig McCann finished fourth in the T2 tricycle time trial as round two of the UCI Para-cycling Road World Cup began in Ostend, Belgium.
McCann completed the 15km event - two laps of the 7.5km course - in 28:09.39 to miss out on a podium spot by just over three seconds.
German Hans-Peter Durst collected gold with a powerful ride in 25:50.76, as Americans Ryan Boyle and Steven Peace took second and third respectively.
McCann, 33, part of British Cycling’s Podium Potential programme, will now turn his attention to Saturday’s road race, an event he won silver in at the first round of the world cup in Maniago, Italy.
The time trials continue on Thursday with Mel Nicholls in the H4 time trial and Will Bjergfelt in the C5 time trial for the Great Britain Cycling Team.
