Wales Junior Programme riders will compete in the SPIE International Junior Three Days of Axel 19 – 21 May 2017 in The Netherlands and Belgium.

Six Junior Men will compete in the UCI 2.1 race, which is now in its 36th year. The three day event consists of four stages, including an individual time trial. It begins with a 101km in the Dutch town of Axel and concludes with 96km stage in Zottegem, Belgium.

Rhys Britton, Brecon Burnett, Dan Coombe, Sam Tillett, James Tillett and Josh Price will make up the Wales Junior Programme team. The international race has two stages over the cobbles in Flanders, with the final stage through the Flemish Ardennes combining cobbles and climbs.

There is a strong European field with Switzerland, Germany and Italy amongst the teams set to start on Friday. As the road season is now underway, the riders will be looking to perform as a team whilst building their experience of continental racing conditions.
