The Great Britain Cycling Team heads to Verona from Friday 8 July - Sunday 10 July to challenge for podium finishes at the 2016 UEC BMX European Championships on the Olympic Arena BMX track.
The team
Junior women
Beth Shriever, the world junior time trial silver medallist will be on the hunt for more international glory when she and Blaine Ridge-Davis line up in the junior women’s category.
Elite men
British champion Tre Whyte and current leader of the 2016 British Cycling BMX series, Quillan Isidore, will go for Great Britain in the elite men’s category.
Junior men
Wilfred Njuguna and Paddy Sharrock, fresh from his European cup win in Weiterstadt, race in the junior men’s event.
Under-16 boys
The younger Isidore brother, Tian, is one of two British under-16 riders alongside Euan Hunt.
The course
Built in 2013, Verona’s Olympic Arena BMX track is the first world and Olympic standard facility for BMX racing in Italy and the only one of its kind existing in south-central Europe.
The parallel challenge and supercross tracks on share two berms but, uniquely, the penultimate turn for the supercross riders must be reached by jumping clear of the challenge track’s raised bend.
