Maximise Motivate Master is a series of bespoke coach development workshops developed by Scottish Cycling and Active Advantage.  The overall aim of the workshops is to develop the essential coaching skills that underpin effective coaching.

“Effective coaches get the best out of individuals”

Programme aims

  • Help coaches integrate good practice into their coaching sessions
  • Teach coaches how questioning can elicit more effective feedback
  • Use athlete feedback to inform future coaching
  • Enable coaches to individualise coaching better
  • Support coaches to make more reflective and independent athletes
  • Investigate how to develop more effective coaching relationships

Why should I attend?

Just like the best riders, effective coaches constantly strive for personal improvement. To do this requires specific and deliberate practice, which is where Continuous Professional Development (CPD) comes in.  Better coaches and coaching equals better and happier riders.  Quality coaches help develop athletes, clubs and the sport as a whole.

MMM Programme Outline

The MMM programme consists of three core workshop each lasting 3 hours in duration.

Session 1 - Developing your Coaching Philosophy and Style

Session 2 - Questioning and feedback skills

Session 3 - Communication

Who is it for?

All levels of coaches may benefit from MMM it really depends on the individual and their needs.  The content is generic across all coaching levels and disciplines so coaches will take away what they need from the workshops.  For some all the information maybe new, for other it may be partially new and for the rest it may be a reminder.  Either way it will be productive.

Who is delivering these workshops?

The Active Advantage team will deliver the workshops. Read more about them here

MMM + (new!)

Essentially MMM+ is a mentoring opportunity for coaches that want to embed the theory learned in the MMM workshops into coaching practice.  In our experience we have found to actually improve and impact on the coaches’ practice more emphasis and support needs to be given to the practical implementation of new skills and knowledge.
