Britain’s Rachel Atherton extended her run of UCI Mountain Bike Downhill World Cup wins to nine with victory at Fort William.
The world champion’s triumph sees her overall lead in the series grow to 190 points over fellow Brit Manon Carpenter, who was third behind Tracey Hannah in Scotland.
The victory also sees Atherton match Anne-Caroline Chausson's record run of nine consecutive world cup wins.

“I didn’t even think about it (the record) coming into the weekend,” Atherton said. “I can’t believe it, nine wins in a row.
“Winning at Fort William, it tops it every time. It’s so cool, all the family here, going mad. Hopefully I have enough time now to say hi to everyone!”

Atherton, 28, bounced back from a crash in Saturday’s qualifying run - when she finished second to Carpenter - to set a time of 5:11.219 in the final, over 12 seconds quicker than Australian Hannah.
Defending world cup champion Atherton’s winning run in the world cup extends back to June 2015, starting at last year's event at Fort William.
Elite men
Danny Hart took third as South African Greg Minnaar won ahead of defending world cup champion Aaron Gwin in the elite men's event.
Hart’s 4:39.596 was just under four seconds slower than the winning time. Fastest qualifier Gee Atherton crashed during his run to end his hopes of a hat-trick of wins at Fort William after topping the podium in 2010 and 2013.
