Welsh Cycling head to the 33rd edition of Omloop van Borsele in The Netherlands 22 – 24 April 2016.

Four junior women will compete in the three day stage race in The Netherlands with Welsh Cycling. The race opens with an Individual Time Trial on Friday evening. This is followed by 3 laps of 24km circuit on Saturday and a 72km road race on Sunday.

Elizabeth Bennett, Megan Chard, Emily Tillett and Sophie Williams will compete with the Wales Cycling Team. Bennett, Tillett and Williams recently competed in the Junior Energiewacht Tour and will bring their experiences and implement their learning at Omloop van Borsele.

Competing in Europe exposes riders to greater international competition, tactical awareness is important, and to continue to develop race skills required as an athlete progressing up the pathway. The team will be looking to put in a strong performance building on previous experiences.

Omloop van Borsele is now in it’s 33rd year with previous winners including Wales’ Elinor Barker and Olympic champion Laura Trott.
