Having hosted the 2016 Exposure Lights Big Night Out / Scott MTB Marathon Series opener last Sunday, the RWAS Showground and the team from Cycle-Tec again welcome the Welsh Mountain Bike Cross-country Series to Llanelwedd in Mid Wales for Round 2 on Sunday 17April.

The compact and punchy course is centred on the parking hill overlooking the showground and features all the essential ingredients for a fun racing experience. Flowing single track interspersed with sharp tarmac climbs and grassy descents takes riders from one car-park level to another, culminating in a technical rock garden descent back to the event arena.

There is racing for all ages and abilities and includes Go-Race and Fun categories respectively for under 12s and riders 12 and over who are new to the sport. Online entry has closed but there is entry on the day, further event information can be found here. A British Cycling racing licence is only required by riders seeking ranking points. There is no surcharge for riders who do not have British Cycling membership.

The course will be open for official practice prior to the races on Sunday; riders must have their number board attached for official practice. The course will be open for practice after 3pm on Saturday but there will be no marshals or first aid. Please wear a helmet at all times and take care when out on the course.
