Great Britain Cycling Team’s Katy Marchant took a sprint and keirin double at the Torfeu CAR Anadia Portugal meeting as her wonderful run of form on the track continued.

European under-23 keirin champion Marchant defeated Russian Daria Shmeleva in the final of the sprint at the three-day meeting from 4-6 September.

Becky James was fourth behind France’s Virginie Cueff at the indoor Sangalos Velodrome.

Two-time world champion James gained more valuable time on the track after a lengthy absence.

In the keirin, 22-year-old Marchant - who cleaned up at August’s Revolution Series opener in Derby with sprint, keirin and 500m time trial triumphs - saw off the challenges of France’s Sandie Clair and Belgium’s Nicky Degrendele.

Two-time world champion James was fourth, gaining more valuable time on the track after a lengthy absence.

Great Britain’s track cyclists are next in action at the Stab Velodrome in Roubaix this weekend at the Open Nations.
