Wiggins and Cavendish team up to win Madison at Revolution Cycling Series

Great Britain Cycling Team’s Sir Bradley Wiggins and Mark Cavendish linked up to win the Madison on the final day of the Revolution Cycling Series in Derby.

The duo, world champions together in the event in 2008, won five of the eight sprints to secure victory by over 11 points and delight the crowd at the new velodrome.

Cavendish completed an impressive return to the track by finishing second in the ominium behind fellow Briton Ed Clancy.

Great Britain Cycling Team’s Sir Bradley Wiggins and Mark Cavendish linked up to win the Madison on the final day of the Revolution Cycling Series in Derby.

Clancy ended the six-discipline event on 228 points with Cavendish on 210 points and British Cycling Olympic Senior Academy rider Chris Latham third on 184 points.

Double Olympic champion Laura Trott by triumphed in a thrilling omnium. Trott had won four of the first five disciplines heading in to the points race as she duelled with Belgian Jolien D’Hoore.

D’Hoore pushed Trott hard over 100 laps with the Briton eventually winning by just three points - 222 points to D’Hoore’s 219.

Great Britain’s Katy Marchant completed a flawless weekend of racing by winning the women’s keirin having already won the 500m time trial and sprint events.

Marchant won the final ahead of France’s Sandie Clair with former junior world champion Dannielle Khan third for Britain.

The men’s event was won by 2013 world champion Jason Kenny as he crossed the line ahead of sprint winner Lewis Oliva to complete a superb three days of racing for the Great Britain Cycling Team , earning important Rio Olympic qualification points.
