Young people could meet the multiple Olympic champion at his signature sportive in the Yorkshire Dales.

The HOY One Hundred Sportive on Sunday 30 August is set to be a challenging day in the saddle for those taking part, however there will also be a chance for aspiring young cyclists to sharpen their riding skills with a British Cycling Go-Ride session.

Based at the event HQ – Skipton Academy in Skipton, North Yorkshire, BD23 1UQ – it’s a great opportunity for the young supporters of those taking part to get on their bikes, welcome triumphant finishers across the line and meet Sir Chris Hoy!

Proudly partnered by Evans Cycles, Go-Ride is British Cycling's flagship programme for young people and offers a fun and safe way to introduce young riders to the world of cycle sport. Delivered by qualified British Cycling coaches, the sessions encourage young people to improve bike handling skills and feel confident on their bikes.

The session will run from 12pm to 4pm on the school’s playing fields, meaning that families can cheer riders finishing either the short or long sportive route while also having an opportunity to get on two wheels themselves on the Go-Ride course.

On completing his ride, Sir Chris Hoy will be dropping by to meet the children participating and see his fleet of new HOY bikes in action.

Registering a young person is completely free and quick to do using the form below. It will also be possible for riders to sign up and ride on the day, however we encourage you to register in advance if possible. A range of HOY bikes and Lazer helmets will be available for young people aged between 7 and 16 years of age if required.

Evans Cycles became a partner of the Go-Ride programme earlier this year and is providing 1,500 HOY bikes to Go-Ride Coaches to support over 300 Go-Ride Clubs across the country. Together with support from the Bicycle Association, the partnership aims to create over two million opportunities for young people to get into cycling by 2020.
