The Go-Ride Conference preparations are in full swing and this year is set to be packed full of opportunities for young volunteers to get involved, get qualified and get active in order to take their next steps as club volunteers.
At this year’s conferences we are providing a mix of training and opportunities for young volunteers. The morning session will start with ‘The Role of the Volunteer Co-ordinator’ workshop, followed by a social media training session in the afternoon.
The focus of the Young Volunteers Workshop is about getting the young volunteers out of their comfort zones and taking on new roles to support the wider activities in Go-Ride community clubs. They will be given the knowledge, tools and resources needed to enable them to support other Young Volunteers in carrying out their roles in their clubs.
Building on this knowledge they will finish the day by finding out how they can get involved with British cycling’s latest national opportunities: the National Youth Forum, the National Talent Camp and how they can be a part of one of Britain’s largest school based event – the Sainsbury’s School Games.
The conference will be completed with the delivery of our national Go-Ride awards including all gold and platinum awards for Young volunteers. Our National Youth Reps will be on hand, throughout the day, to support and give guidance to Young Volunteers wishing to progress in our sport.
