Seven Welsh cyclists have been long-listed for the 2012 UCI Road World Championships in Limburg, The Netherlands. The final team selection will be announced shortly.

Elite cyclists, Geraint Thomas and Luke Rowe have been named in a 14-man squad for the Road Race, of which 9 will start. Thomas has also been listed for the Elite Men’s Time Trial alongside Chris Froome and Alex Dowsett, but only 2 will start.

Nicole Cooke has also been listed amongst 12 Elite Women for the Road Race, with only 7 to start on Saturday 22^nd September.

Sam Harrison has been long listed for the U23 Men’s Time Trial. Junior rider Ed Laverack, who finished 3^rd at this year’s Junior Tour of Wales, has also been named in the squad of 12 riders, which will be halved before the race on Sunday 23^rd September.

Junior women, Amy Roberts and Elinor Barker will compete in the Junior Women Time Trial and both have also been listed in a squad of 6 riders for the Junior Women Road Race with 5 starting in Limburg on Friday 21st September.
