It is with regret that we inform you of the postponement of the 2017 Scottish National 50 Mile Time Trial Championship scheduled for Sunday 9th July in Fordoun.  The planned roadworks at North Water Bridge on the A90 were due for completion on 4th July, however these works have been extended beyond the weekend, in addition to this, new roadworks started yesterday at Laurencekirk with completion date of Friday 7th July .

On notification of these works, the Event Organiser contacted the roads contractor to clarify the situation and explore a solution to this problem, however were unable to ensure the delivery of a safe, fair and competitive Championship event.  This has unfortunately left the Event Organiser and Scottish Cycling with no option but to postpone the event at very late notice.

Scottish Cycling would like to take this opportunity to thank riders for their support of the Championship and we apologise for the late notification of this cancellation.  All riders will be informed of this via email and any rider wishing to transfer their entry to Sunday 6th August will be able to do so by notifying the organiser.  Any rider unable to enter on the 6th August will be issued with a full refund on their entry, if they inform the organiser by Sunday 23rd July.

The new date for Championship will be Sunday 6th August 2017 at Fordoun.  Entries for the rearranged Championship will re-open as soon as possible.

We would like to extend our thanks to the Event Organiser, Mike Spalding, and the organising club, Granite City RT, for their time and commitment to organising this Championship and we share their disappointment at this unfortunate situation.  We will work with Mike in the coming weeks to administer the changes required due to this alteration.

Scottish Cycling share your extreme disappointment in the postponement of the 2017 Scottish National 50 Mile Time Trial Championship but unfortunately, the situation was out with our control.

Once again, we thank you for your support of this event and if you have any queries, please contact the Event Organiser or events@scottishcycling.org.uk.
