The first ever Scottish Cycling South West Time Trial championships took place on Saturday.

The championships were incorporated in the Cronberry Classic, a 17 mile time trial on quiet, rolling roads around the village of Sorn, hosted by Loudoun Road Club.

It was a cold windy day with a few hail showers!

The event was won by Douglas Watson (Icarus Racing) setting a new course record of 41:10.

Marc Anderson (Loudoun RC) finished in 4th place with a time of 42:23 to take the SC South West TT title.  Silver medal went to Chris Stewart (Classic RT) and bronze to Darren Kean (Fullarton Wheelers)

In the women’s competition, Janet Erskine (Ayr Roads CC) was fastest in a time of 50:03 adding the South West TT title to the cyclocross title that she won in December.   Catherine Logan (Fullarton Wheelers) took the silver medal with Fiona Walker (Walkers CC) taking bronze.
