It was 1st place for Julie Erskine, who rides for IKON-Mazda, on Saturday up in Knockburn in the Dales Cycles Scottish National Women's Road Race Series.

Although Ashleigh Fraser, not too disheartened at 2nd place, took 1st place in the Scottish Cycling North East Grampian Womens Road Race Championships, which doubled up in the same event - becoming local champion.

Ashleigh, who only just turned 19, came 12th in the Girls Arctic Race in Norway earlier this month - definitely one to watch.

Ellen McDermott took 3rd place on the podium.
