Following the rearrangement of the 2017 Scottish National 50 Mile Time Trial Championship due to roadworks on the course, it is with sincere regret that Scottish Cycling and the organising club, Granite City RT, announce that the event will be postponed once again.
The planned roadworks at North Water Bridge on the A90 were originally due for completion on 4th July, however this completion date was extended to 4th August which caused the original Championship date to move. It has since been announced that these roadworks will now be completed by 25th August which has once again, put the 2017 National Championship in jeopardy.
Both the Event Organiser and Scottish Cycling have been liaising with Traffic Scotland and the roadworks contractor in an attempt to find an alternative solution to allow racing to take place on the rearranged date, however due to the type of works being carried out, this will not be possible and the event has no option but to be postponed again.
Despite this disappointing situation, the priority remains to deliver a National 50 Mile Time Trial Championship in 2017! The Championship will now be rearranged to Sunday 24th September on the original course, organised and delivered by Granite City RT. All riders currently entered in either Championship dates will be contacted directly by the organiser with information on the rearranged date and how entries and refunds will be processed. The event will also re-open for entries, so any rider not already entered will have the opportunity to do so.

Scottish Cycling would also like to show great appreciation to Mike Spalding and Granite City RT for their tireless efforts in organising this event and overcoming each challenge that has arisen; the Events Team are delighted to work with Mike on this Championship event.
