Scottish Cycling is excited to see the return of the Tour Series to both Motherwell and Aberdeen in May and will be making sure that everyone can get in on the action.

It is the first time that the Tour Series has held a round of the unique, team based series in Aberdeen and the second time that two rounds have come to Scotland.

The Tour Series will descend on Motherwell on 23rd May, with Aberdeen two days later on 25th.

Scottish Cycling, Active Schools and Local Councils are all making sure that it is not just the professional teams that are getting in on the action and are hosting a variety of events on the closed road circuits.

Scottish Cycling West, in partnership with local clubs and volunteers will again be running an afternoon of support events in Motherwell prior to the Tour Series. Active Schools will also be enjoying access to the closed roads to offer local school children the opportunity to ride the course.

The support events will include a youth race for A & B category riders, boys and girls, a race which is set to be fast and competitive. There is a women’s only race – for all category of riders, entries are encouraged for this event to ensure its success. The final support event will be the Men’s 2/3/4 race which last year provided a great race, with close bunch racing. Online entry for the Motherwell support events can be found here.

Scottish Cycling North East, will also be making sure there are events for all with Youths aged from 8-16 racing as well as a 3rd and 4th category race, and a 2nd, 3rd and 4th category race too. If you want to enter any of these events please click here.

Aberdeen City Council is also working to provide local events before the Tour Series with Active Schools also enjoying access to the closed roads in the city centre.

Craig Burn, Chief Executive of Scottish Cycling:

“When major events come to Scotland, Scottish Cycling work in partnership with local authorities and our clubs to make sure we can maximise the opportunity for all of our members to enjoy the celebration that they bring. We are delighted to have two rounds of the Tour Series again this year, meaning that opportunities are accessible for everyone across the country.”
