Scotland’s Ellie Richardson will be competing in the Rotterdam Sixdays UCI with Great Britain Cycling Team this weekend.

It is the first time the 29 year old has donned the blue, red and white skinsuit after taking up cycling in 2011 – transferring over from a career in athletics.

Ellie is part of Edinburgh Road Club and the Affiliate Programme at Scottish Cycling. She has also been seen cycling for Scotland Burness Paull at the Revolution Cycling Series.

In 2012 Ellie became the fastest Scottish female sprinter in track cycling.

The Sixdays run from 7th to 12th January and Ellie will be competing in the team-sprint with Norfolk’s Victoria Williamson, pictured above, as well as taking part in some individual sprint events.
