As part of the role out of the HSBC Go-Ride programme across Scotland, Scottish Cycling is looking to recruit a number of part time and sessional coaches to deliver youth sessions on a regular basis across disciplines.

The introduction of the HSBC UK Go-Ride coaching programme in Scotland is providing a great opportunity for Scottish Cycling to increase youth activities and we need enthusiastic and stimulating coaches to help us achieve this aim.

With a focus on youth development, we are seeking coaches to lead on the delivery of cluster sessions, our Regional Academies of Cycling Education (R.A.C.E.) days as well as supporting and developing the delivery of club coaching programmes.   In addition, and working closely with our Regional Development Officers, we are looking for school engagement to deliver in curriculum time as well as after school sessions in order to attract more youngsters into the sport.

The commitment required to be part of this exciting programme can vary depending on availability but we are looking for coaches who can commit to running blocks of weekly sessions including a number of full day development opportunities (R.A.C.E.) at weekends and in school holidays  as well as supporting a number of club sessions.  In addition some work within a school setting will be required during certain times of the year.

If you feel you have the relevant skillset and experience to lead and deliver sessions as outlined we’d like to hear from you.  You will be qualified to a minimum of UKCC Level 2, experienced in coaching youth riders, and able to work alongside volunteers to deliver sessions and activities as a team whilst taking a lead role in order to drive the programme forward in your area.  You will have a good appreciation of long term athlete development and will clearly understand the competition and coaching pathways for a young person entering the sport.

Coaches may be contracted to deliver on a self-employed or part time employed basis depending on the individual.
