Invite to tender - Consultancy Brief (June 2012)

Strategic & Governance Review

New Beginning: New Model for a New Era

Posted on: 11th June 2012

Scottish Cycling is seeking tenders from consultants to undertake an independent review of the sport. The review will look at the functions and priorities of Scottish Cycling and critically examine the existing governance structures as to how the sport is organised and managed. The review will make recommendations that will accelerate the ongoing modernisation of Scottish Cycling to fully exploit the potential for the sport and its participants.

Required Experience

This is a complex and challenging assignment and any consultant or consortium submitting a tender will be required to possess considerable experience in identifying and facilitating change in sport. Ideally they should also have direct experience of leadership in sport, and possess the credibility associated with this. Familiarity with the current and future issues facing sport in Britain is essential. In addition experience of leading and facilitating change at UK level would also be an advantage.

Timescale and Costs

Start date will be in August 2012: an interim report is to be delivered by the end of October 2012 with a final report and implementation plan (supported in principle by key stakeholders) delivered by the end of December 2012. There is a budget of £15,000 available (including VAT & expenses).
