A strong contingent of Scottish XC riders travelled down to Ludlow in Shropshire for Round three of the National Series and continued the strong showing with podiums in numerous categories.

On a tough course with a big climb and big decent Emma Borthwick (ERC martin Currie) and Katy Allen (Wallace Warriors) got the ball rolling with a well deserved 3rd and 4th places respectively. The youth Girls provided the first win of the weekend with Lucy grant (PCC) powering home to victory ahead of fellow Scot Isla Short (I Cycles). In the youth boys Calum McGowan (PCC Alpine bikes) could not repeat his win in round 2 but still finished an impressive 3rd.

In the junior Boys Iain Paton just missed out on the win by 11 seconds and was joined by 4 other Scottish riders in the top 10 to show impressive strength in depth in the juniors category right now.

After a Strong showing by the Youth and juniors riders the Elite men did not disappoint all scoring season best finishes in the 5 lap blue ribbon event. Rab Wardell (Alpine Bikes Racing) finished in a strong 7th position and was followed home by Dave Henderson and Gareth Montgomerie (Both GT Racing UK) in 9th and 10th respectively.
