Scottish XC riders continue strong season at Dalby BMBS

Scottish riders again rode strongly at the second round of the British Cross County Series at the popular Dalby Forest venue in Yorkshire. The day started well with Emma Borthwick taking 2nd place in Juvenile female whilst Lucy Grant and Isla Short took 1st and 2nd youth female.

Calum MaGowan proceeded to take the win in youth male and was followed home in 6th pace by fellow Scot Harry Johnson. A little bad luck followed in the junior men when Tom Evans Snapped his chain whilst at the front of the race but Iain Paton rode strongly to finish in 4th place.

The elite women’s and Men’s races were to be a high class affair with an international field. Lee Craigie rode a strong race to finish in 4th Gaining valuable UCI points. The elite men’s race with 75 starters and some highly ranked riders from the continent was always going to be fast and furious. Kenta Gallaher, Rab Wardell and Grant Ferguson all rode well to secure top 15 finishes.
